Pre SIHH 2017: Piaget Altiplano 60th Anniversary27 December 2016
In 1957 Piaget did a revolution in watchmaking, launching an ultra slim watch. The slim profile and the purity of the dial gave this timepiece an elegant and sober look, and brought it to immediate success in watchmaking history. To celebrate the 60 years of the first iconic model, Piaget’s High Watchmaking Manufacture will dedicate the entire 2017 year to the Piaget Altiplano, launching in January, during the SIHH (Salon International De La Haute Horlogerie), a collection in limited edition.

Piaget Altiplano 43 mm with self-winding movement (G0A42105)
Piaget Altiplano 38 mm with manual winding movement (G0A42107)
Taking inspiration from the aesthetical codes of the first extra plat Piaget models, the new Piaget Altiplano with automatic and manual winding calibers enhances the creativity of the Maison, that have been able to actualize an iconic watch, to satisfy the needs of the modern life. Both timepieces are enriched by a traditional Piaget blue dial with soleil decorations. At the same way the sober cross, taken from Piaget’s historical models, is placed between the white gold applied index, and the baton hands.
The Piaget Altiplano 43 mm with automatic movement encloses the caliber 1200P, 2.35 mm thick, white the Piaget Altiplano 38 mm encloses the movement 430P, that features an incredible 2.1 mm thickness. Thanks to the purist and minimalistic design and the characteristic aesthetic code, the new Piaget Altiplano boasts of a contemporary elegance beyond time.
