New Panerai Boutique Opening In Rome14 June 2019
After Florence, Milan and Venice, Officine Panerai inaugurated its 85th Boutique in Rome on June 12, at number 130 of Via del Babuino. Located in the historical heart of the capital – a stone’s throw from the Spanish Steps – the new store perfectly reflects Panerai’s DNA thanks to the use of materials alluding to the world of sea, such as brass, bronze and durmast oak.
The hosts cutting the ribbon during the opening ceremony were Jean-Marc Pontrouè, Officine Panerai CEO, and Gregorio Paltrinieri, Olympic swimming champion and ambassador of the brand.
Among the many new releases on display, the most eye-catching was the Panerai Luminor Marina 44 – Special Roma Edition: a watch created especially for the occasion and produced in only 130 pieces, just like the boutique’s street number and the number of Spanish Steps nearby. Available exclusively at the Rome boutique, this limited edition presents a sandwich dial, a steel case with an engraving of the Spanish Steps on the back, and a red and yellow sewing on the strap inspired by the colours of the city’s crest.
An exclusive party concluded the event, at Fuksas’ La Lanterna, where Jean-Marc Pontrouè presented a new version of the Luminor Tourbillon GMT “Lo Scienziato” featuring green details.
