Originally established as a supplier of precision instruments to the Italian Navy, Panerai continues to define its identity around a clear principle: a watch conceived first and foremost to meet operational demands. In this context, form and function operate as a single system, where every element is designed to ensure legibility, resilience and long-term reliability. For Watches and Wonders 2026 in Geneva, the Maison builds on this foundation with six new referencesthat reinterpret the historical codes of the Luminor line through a contemporary lens.
LUMINOR 8 GIORNI PAM01733
With the Luminor 8 Giorni PAM01733, Panerai revisits one of its most defining technical elements, extended power reserve, placing it within a construction that remains faithful to the brand’s original logic, where every choice is driven by functional requirements rather than aesthetics. The 44 mm case draws directly from the 47 mm Luminor models of the 1960s, particularly reference 6152/1, retaining the cushion profile, integrated lugs and the crown-protecting bridge, patented in 1956 to improve sealing and protect against shocks and water ingress.

The Brunito finish follows the same construction logic: applied over a black PVD-treated steel base and then hand-worked, it produces a surface that shifts from black to grey across more exposed areas, with slight variations from one piece to another. The anthracite dial, finished with rotational brushing, responds to light by altering the depth of colour. The sandwich construction ensures immediate legibility, while Arabic numerals, hour markers and pencil hands with beige Super-LumiNova reflect a historically rooted functional aesthetic. The small seconds at 9 o’clock complete a clean, essential layout.

Inside, the in-house hand-wound calibre P.5000 delivers an eight-day power reserve thanks to twin barrels arranged in series, ensuring a more stable distribution of energy. It operates at 21,600 vibrations per hour and features a shock-protection device and stop-seconds function. The sapphire caseback reveals the movement, while the domed sapphire crystal on the front recalls the effect of plexiglass used in historical models. Water resistance is guaranteed up to 30 bar, thanks to a solid construction and a particularly rigorous validation process.

The watch is fitted with a brown calf leather strap with beige stitching and is delivered with an additional black rubber strap designed for more technical use. The Luminor 8 Giorni PAM01733 is priced at € 11,000.
LUMINOR 31 GIORNI PAM01631
With the Luminor 31 Giorni PAM01631, Panerai explores the most radical extension of one of its core technical pillars, power reserve, developed as a direct evolution of a functional requirement. From the earliest military references, power reserve was a critical factor, initially limited to a few dozen hours and progressively extended to ensure operational continuity. A decisive step came in the 1950s with the adoption of the Angelus SF240 calibre, capable of around eight days of power reserve, establishing an approach that went beyond duration alone to reduce crown interaction and improve long-term reliability. This evolution continues through the manufacture calibres, reaching a 31-day power reserve conceived as the result of controlled energy management rather than a simple increase in duration.

Developed over seven years by the Laboratorio di Idee, the watch is housed in a 44 mm case in Panerai Goldtech, an alloy based on gold and copper with the addition of platinum and silver to improve colour stability and resistance to oxidation. Inside, the hand-wound calibre P.2031/S adopts a fully skeletonised architecture built around four barrels arranged in series. Together, they use mainsprings with a combined length of approximately 3.3 metres, designed to operate at lower torque and higher rotational speed, reducing friction and stress on the pivots while ensuring more consistent energy distribution throughout the entire running cycle. The result is a 31-day power reserve, equivalent to 744 hours, achieved with just 128 turns of the crown, without the need for dedicated winding systems or external tools.
This balance is further regulated by the Torque Limiter system: while the movement is capable of storing more energy, only a selected portion is used, eliminating the initial and final phases where torque is less stable. This improves precision across the full 31-day cycle, avoiding significant variations in rate. At the end of the cycle, the calibre stops automatically despite the presence of residual energy, a design choice that reduces stress on the components.

The calibre operates at 21,600 vibrations per hour and features a shock-protection system. Its skeletonised architecture makes the arrangement of the barrels and the transmission of energy visible, further enhanced by the sapphire caseback. Functionally, the movement features independent hour adjustment, a peripheral power reserve indicator, small seconds at 9 o’clock and a date display at 3 o’clock, while preserving clear legibility. Water resistance is guaranteed up to 10 bar, in line with the technical positioning of the model and its focus on operational continuity.

The watch is fitted with a black alligator strap and a Goldtech deployant clasp with the PAM Click Release system, allowing quick strap changes without tools, and is delivered with an additional rubber strap. Produced in a limited series of 200 pieces, the Luminor 31 Giorni PAM01631 is priced at € 95,000, in line with its technical complexity and the long development behind the calibre.
TWO INTERPRETATIONS OF STRUCTURAL INNOVATION
Within the Watches and Wonders 2026 collection, Panerai interprets the Luminor heritage through two approaches based on the same design foundation. The Luminor PAM01731 and the Luminor Destro PAM01732 both draw on the architecture of the 1960s reference 6152/1, differing in their approach: the first more faithful to tradition, the second tied to the “Destro” configuration developed for operational needs.
LUMINOR PAM01731
With the Luminor PAM01731, Panerai reinterprets the core codes of the cushion-shaped case in a contemporary 44 mm format, with integrated lugs and a crown-protecting bridge. Its structural role is emphasised by the contrast between finishes, with a polished case middle paired with a satin-finished bridge. The domed sapphire crystal recalls the effect of plexiglass, enhancing dial depth and legibility.

The sapphire caseback reveals the in-house hand-wound calibre P.6000, a movement defined by a simple yet robust construction. It operates at 21,600 vibrations per hour and features a single barrel with a three-day power reserve, along with a shock-protection device and stop-seconds function for precise adjustment.

The matte tobacco dial with a lightly grained finish introduces a deeper tone within the collection and, through the sandwich construction, ensures consistent legibility. Indices, numerals and pencil hands with beige Super-LumiNova maintain a functional aesthetic, completed by small seconds at 9 o’clock. Water resistance is guaranteed up to 30 bar,in line with the technical positioning of the model.

The watch is fitted with a dark brown calf leather strap with beige stitching and a trapezoidal steel buckle, and is delivered with an additional rubber strap in the same tone. The Luminor PAM01731 is priced at € 8,900.
LUMINOR DESTRO PAM01732
The Luminor Destro PAM01732 introduces a functional variation rooted in the operational needs for which these instruments were originally conceived, relocating the crown-protecting bridge to the left side of the case to enable right-wrist wear. This configuration was developed to facilitate interaction with instruments such as compasses and depth gauges, improving ergonomics underwater by reducing interference and pressure points during use.

The 44 mm steel case maintains the same architecture as the PAM01731, with a cushion-shaped middle case, alternating polished and satin surfaces and a domed sapphire crystal, while the transparent caseback reveals the hand-wound calibre P.6000, identical in construction and performance.

The matte blue dial with a grained finish offers a more essential display, without small seconds and structured around the numerals at 12, 3, 6 and 9, reinforcing functional clarity by reducing non-essential elements. The sandwich construction and beige Super-LumiNova on indices and hands ensure visibility even in low-light conditions, maintaining consistency with the historical language of the model.

Water resistance is guaranteed up to 30 bar and supported by the same advanced testing protocol applied to each piece, while the light brown calf leather strap with beige stitching is paired with an additional blue rubber strap. The Luminor Destro PAM01732 is priced at € 8,900.
THE RETURN TO THE ORIGINS OF THE LUMINO
With the Luminor PAM01735 and the Luminor Forged Titanium PAM01629, Panerai explores the Luminor heritage through proportions and materials drawn from its earliest military instruments. Both models are based on the architecture of the 1960s reference 6152/1, as seen in PAM01731 and PAM01732, retaining the 47 mm diameter and case construction. From this shared foundation, they develop in two directions: one more faithful to historical codes, the other focused on material research.
LUMINOR PAM01735
With the Luminor PAM01735, Panerai offers a direct interpretation of its heritage, revisiting historical proportions and codes in a 47 mm format. The polished steel case retains the cushion-shaped geometry with integrated lugs and crown-protecting bridge, with an interplay of surfaces that emphasises its structure. The domed sapphire crystal recalls the effect of Perspex, enhancing dial depth and legibility.

Inside, the in-house hand-wound calibre P.3000 features a large and robust architecture, operating at 21,600 vibrations per hour with a Glucydur balance and shock-protection device. The three-day power reserve is delivered by twin barrels arranged in series. The movement also features a rapid hour-adjustment function, allowing the hour hand to be moved in one-hour increments without affecting minutes or seconds.

The matte ivory dial with a grained finish recalls a tropical effect, with a darker gradient along the perimeter. The sandwich construction ensures consistent legibility, complemented by beige Super-LumiNova on indices and hands, with small seconds at 9 o’clock. Water resistance is guaranteed up to 10 bar, in line with the technical positioning of the model. The screw-bar system securing the strap enhances stability. The watch is fitted with a brown calf leather strap with beige stitching and is delivered with an additional black rubber strap. The Luminor PAM01735 is priced at € 12,100.
LUMINOR FORGED TITANIUM PAM01629
While the Luminor PAM01735 represents a direct return to the origins, the Luminor Forged Titanium PAM01629develops the same architecture through a material-focused approach. For the first time, Panerai introduces forged titanium, created by combining two different titanium alloys under heat and pressure in a forging process, resulting in a compact and durable structure. The result is a surface characterised by a wavy pattern in varying shades of grey, with each case exhibiting a unique configuration.

The 47 mm case, including the middle case, bezel, crown-protecting bridge and lever, benefits from the intrinsic properties of titanium, reducing weight by approximately 40 percent compared to steel while improving resistance to corrosion and mechanical stress. Despite its size, this significantly enhances comfort on the wrist while maintaining structural consistency with historical models.
The watch is powered by the hand-wound calibre P.3000, identical in construction and performance to that of the PAM01735, with twin barrels, a frequency of 21,600 vibrations per hour, a three-day power reserve and rapid hour-adjustment function. The anthracite dial with sunray finish interacts with light, enhancing the dynamic perception of the case, while the sandwich construction and beige Super-LumiNova ensure consistent legibility. Water resistance is guaranteed up to 10 bar.

The watch is fitted with a beige suede strap with a trapezoidal titanium buckle and is delivered with an additional black rubber strap. Produced in a limited series of 100 pieces, the Luminor Forged Titanium PAM01629 is priced at € 23,000.
CONSISTENCY AS A DESIGN PRINCIPLE
This is not a collection built around effect or the introduction of new visual codes. Panerai works through reduction, bringing each element back to its essential function, leaving nothing to excess. That is where the Watches and Wonders 2026 novelties find their strength. Not in redefining the language, but in maintaining it with precision while everything around it evolves. It is precisely this consistency that makes Panerai instantly recognisable.
