Description
The so-called “regulateur” watches constitute a niche of fine watchmaking, capable of fascinating enthusiasts who love to own timepieces with a particular time display. In fact, the “regulateur” indicates the time through two distinct dials, one for the hours and one for the minutes. Sometimes you can even have three dials, with the addition of the seconds dial. Born as wall clocks, the “regulateur” originally had the practical function of acting as a reference for the adjustment and control of the watches that were currently being produced. Then some large Maisons thought of transferring this complication to the wrist, creating watches of great prestige. Even today, wrist “regulateur” are the prerogative of the most exclusive brands, which guard the secrets of the complication.
As in the case of Vacheron Constantin, of which we propose a Malte Dual Time Regulateur 42005-000G from around 2000, a prestigious watch characterized by a silver dial and a 39 mm round case in rose gold, with beautiful lugs worked in Art-Deco style. The dial is structured in such a way as to make the information displayed as clear as possible. The hour counter is placed at 12 while at 6 we find the small seconds, framed by the hand date display; the dual time zone counter at 9 o’clock completes the picture of the indications. The hour and minute hands, faceted and dagger-shaped, are very beautiful.
The watch is powered by the automatic caliber 1206, developed by Vacheron Constantin based on the Frédéric Piguet 1150, with double barrel, 65 hours of power reserve, 28,800 vibrations/hour and chronometer certification, reported on the dial at 3 o’clock. The condition of the watch is excellent and the set is complete. This Malte Dual Time Regulateur is equipped with a black leather strap with a pink gold pin buckle signed Vacheron Constantin.
