Description
It is not only the Royal Oak and the Royal Oak Offshore that bear witness to the mechanical and aesthetic excellence of Audemars Piguet. If these two collections represent the highest expression of sportiness for the Maison of Le Brassus, the elegance and refinement of the brand are embodied by the Jules Audemars line, a tribute to one of its founding fathers. In 1982, Audemars Piguet presented this line in honor of Jules-Louis Audemars, to enhance the fine watchmaking of Le Brassus. The timepieces of the collection are characterized by sinuous lines and wide curves, embellished with artisanal finishes of the highest level, with a spirit of stylistic elegance that prevails throughout the range.
The watch proposed here is an edition dating back to 2009, with a 43 mm diameter red gold case, waterproof up to 2 atmospheres. The reference in question has an elegant black dial with Roman numeral indexes, in rose gold and applied. The leaf-shaped hour and minute hands are also in rose gold. The placement of the information on the dial is well-balanced, so as to fill the available spaces with elegance. At 6 o’clock is the GMT indicator with hours and minutes, partially overlapping the night and day hour indicator, located between 7 and 8 o’clock. A large hand indicator for the power reserve occupies the space between 9 and 11 o’clock, balanced between 2 and 3 o’clock by the date counter, which indicates the day of the month. The watch is powered by the AP 2329/2846 automatic movement, developed on the basis of the Jaeger-LeCoultre 889, with date functions, power reserve indicator, second time zone and day/night indicator. The calibre works at 28,800 vibrations per hour and has a power reserve of approximately 38 hours. This Jules Audemars by Audemars Piguet is completed by the extract and the exclusive Watch Insanity set.
