The A. Lange & Söhne 1815 Ref. 235.026 represents one of the purest expressions of Saxon watchmaking. The collection takes its name from the year in which Ferdinand Adolph Lange was born, while its design draws inspiration from some of the defining features of the Manufacture’s historic pocket watches, reinterpreted through refined proportions and contemporary construction.
The 18K white gold case measures 38.5 mm in diameter and just 8.8 mm thick. The solid silver argenté dial features black Arabic numerals and a distinctive railway-track minute scale, while the blued hands create an elegant contrast. At 6 o’clock, the small seconds subdial completes a balanced and instantly recognisable composition.
Through the sapphire crystal caseback, the in-house calibre L051.1 can be admired. Composed of 188 parts, this manually wound movement beats at a frequency of 21,600 vibrations per hour and provides a 55-hour power reserve. The traditional three-quarter plate in untreated German silver is complemented by gold chatons secured with blued screws, while the hand-engraved balance cock features a swan-neck fine adjustment system.
The watch is completed by a black alligator leather strap with an 18K white gold pin buckle. This example is accompanied by an A. Lange & Söhne Extract from the Archives and the exclusive Watch Insanity presentation set.
