One of the Vacheron Constantin collections that has been home to some of the most elegant and mechanically accomplished timepieces ever created is the Malte line. Since 1912, the Geneva-based Manufacture has paired the emblematic lines of the Malte collection with some of the finest movements in watchmaking. Named after a watchmaking component that has become a symbol of Vacheron Constantin, the collection is distinguished by the harmony of its forms. In particular, the tonneau-shaped case, a sophisticated design with unmistakable character, serves as a refined vessel for the technical excellence of Haute Horlogerie.
Among the most interesting models ever introduced within the collection is the Royal Eagle, represented here by Ref. 42008. This remarkable timepiece features a 35 mm x 39 mm 18k yellow gold case, water-resistant to 5 bar. The fixed bezel, also crafted from 18k yellow gold, enhances the watch’s elegant overall aesthetic. The ivory-white dial is distinguished by black Arabic numerals and dagger-shaped hour and minute hands. The date display is positioned at 3 o’clock, the day-of-the-week display at 9 o’clock, while a small seconds sub-dial at 6 o’clock bears the inscription AUTOMATIC CHRONOMETER, highlighting the chronometer certification of the movement. Powering the watch is the automatic Calibre 1206, fitted with 31 jewels and offering a power reserve of approximately 65 hours, ensuring both precision and reliability. The dial is protected by a sapphire crystal with anti-reflective treatment.
The watch is fitted with an alligator leather strap secured by a pin buckle, providing both comfort and elegance. It is offered with the exclusive Watch Insanity presentation set.
