Description
Among the countless variants of the Rolex Cosmograph Daytona, those featuring precious stones and noble materials are among the most sought after by collectors who appreciate watches with a strong personality and a true ability to draw attention. Within this category, the so-called “Rainbow” references stand out, distinguished by their bezels set with multicolored gemstones. Alongside them are diamond-set versions, such as the Ref. 116599 RBR presented here, dating back to 2017.
The case is crafted in 18-carat white gold and measures 40 mm in diameter. The bezel, also in 18-carat white gold, is set with 36 round-cut diamonds. The dial is made of mother-of-pearl and features diamond hour markers. Diamonds are also set on the lugs, with 21 diamonds on each lug. The screw-down crown and chronograph pushers ensure water resistance up to 10 bar. The watch is fitted with a white alligator leather strap and an 18-carat white-gold deployant clasp. Powering the chronograph is the calibre 4130, a self-winding mechanical chronograph movement entirely developed and manufactured by Rolex. Its architecture incorporates significantly fewer components than a standard chronograph, thereby enhancing overall reliability. Like all Rolex Perpetual movements, the 4130 is a Swiss-certified chronometer, a designation reserved for high-precision watches that have successfully passed the tests of the Official Swiss Chronometer Testing Institute (COSC). The movement beats at 28,800 vibrations per hour, offers an approximate power reserve of 72 hours, and is equipped with a Parachrom hairspring, providing increased resistance to shocks and temperature variations. The watch offered here is full set.
