Luca Carolei
I’m a collector by vocation and curious by nature. My interest in watches is part of a broader exploration that moves across objects, styles, and different forms of expression: clothing, sneakers, eyewear, design, and books. A journey guided by a refined, understated aesthetic, far from ostentation, where the value of an object reveals itself over time through use, context, and the story it carries with it. Travel is an integral part of the way I collect — not only as a cultural experience, but as an active form of exploration: a constant “hunt” for pieces from the past and the present, capable of sparking genuine passions and meaningful conversations. It is in this spirit that Vintage Swatch was born, an Instagram page that has gradually become a reference point for an international community of Swatch enthusiasts — the brand behind my very first watch — naturally bridging the playful universe of plastic timepieces with the serious world of collectible pieces that headline major auctions. Writing and storytelling complete the journey: essential tools for approaching watchmaking with lightness yet without superficiality, always balancing expertise, irony, and passion. In other words, the most natural way I know to turn an obsession into something worth telling.
