“It’s all a balance on the edge of madness.” The famous line from Sally by Vasco Rossi perfectly captures the way I see mechanical watchmaking. A delicate balance between rationality and instinct, between technique and vision. A passion that has been with me for years and has led me to become the director and driving force behind WATCH INSANITY, together with my friend Jacopo. I’m fascinated by the almost paradoxical harmony of a mechanical movement: an idea born over two centuries ago that still feels strikingly relevant today, captivating men and women living in an age defined by speed and technology. A kind of mechanics that doesn’t simply measure time, but gives it shape. Balance and madness coexist within the watch itself. Classic dials brought to life by forward-thinking architectures. Futuristic aesthetics paired with deeply traditional calibres. Apparent contrasts that ultimately resolve into an unexpected coherence. And it is precisely exploring this “insane” balance — turning technique into stories and culture — that, for me, makes it all so compelling.
