The Breguet Chronograph Ref. 3237 was one of the first pieces introduced by the Maison after the relaunch of the company by the Chaumet brothers, integrating many of the design codes of the past while introducing new details. This reference 3237, is made with a yellow gold case and is a typical example of the Breguet style that Daniel Roth and Fran\u00e7ois Bodet, director of the brand at the time, helped to consolidate in the Maison’s wristwatches.<\/p>\n
With a classic size (36 mm), it features straight lugs and a distinctive fluted caseband reminiscent of the edge of a coin. The design is that of a two-register chronograph, with contrasting textures. The center of the dial features a well-executed Clous de Paris pattern in a silvery gray color. The subdials feature a contrasting internal guilloch\u00e9 pattern, surrounded by an engraved minute track. The external minute track is in brushed silver, with Roman numerals printed in black. The subtle contrast of colors and finishes and the multi-level layout lend a very interesting depth to the design of the watch. The dial is signed BREGUET at 12 o\u2019clock and N. 3444 at 6 o\u2019clock, which is the unique number of the watch. The tradition of numbering watches on the dial seems to have been carried over from Abraham-Louis Breguet\u2019s earlier wristwatches. The Breguet hands, another nod to the master watchmaker\u2019s aesthetic legacy, are made of blued steel. As is typical of Breguet watches of the period, the dial is also hand-finished.
