The first automatic watch from A. Lange & S\u00f6hne, the Langematik, was presented in 1997. The two versions in which it was offered, with or without the large date, resulted in a difference in case dimensions: the Langematik without date measured 36.8 mm in diameter and 8.2 mm thick, the Grand Date was slightly larger and thicker: 37 mm and 9.7 mm. Consequently, the calibers had different references: L921.2 for the version without date and L921.4 for the version with the large date, like the one proposed here, a Ref. 308.032 dating back to around 2005.<\/p>\n
Made of rose gold, it stands out for its clear and luminescent hands and elongated baton indexes. Their dimensions and the consequent use of space on the dial are very harmonious. The blued seconds hand adds just the right touch of color to the silver dial, differentiating itself from the hour and minute hands. Completely symmetrical, the Sax-0-Mat writing at 4 o\u2019clock adds just the right touch of class to what is one of the brand\u2019s first sporty-elegant watches. It was in fact the first Lange that was not afraid to bring an unconventional touch to the brand\u2019s collections. It is therefore an extremely versatile watch, sometimes very elegant on the wrist and casual when necessary, thanks to its compact size of 37 mm. It is powered by the automatic caliber L921.4 with gold micromotor, which works at 21,600 vibrations\/hour and offers 46 hours of power reserve. It is visible through the sapphire crystal caseback.<\/p>\n
