In the vintage world, watches bearing the name of the dealer to whom they were delivered on the dial \u2013 in addition to the brand name \u2013 are among the most intriguing and sought-after references. Around the middle of the last century, Patek Philippe adopted this practice with several of these dealers, including Italian ones. Among them was Gobbi, a historic Patek Philippe dealer on Corso Vittorio Emanuele in Milan, no longer in business today.<\/p>\n
The watch proposed here is an example of a double-signed dial, a reference 2482 from 1952, which bears the inscription GOBBI MILANO at 6 o’clock and, on the back, another gem: it is in fact engraved with the inscription \u2018RICORDO DI ENRICO FALCK 15-6-1953\u2019, in double font, cursive and capital block letters, in memory of the famous post-war Milanese industrialist and senator, with the date of his death. There is no information about the family who owned this watch nor about the history of the timepiece, which is preserved in exceptional condition. The 36 mm gold case (very large by the standards of the time) is extraordinarily sharp, the contrast between the polished and satin finishes is very evident. In addition, the two-tone dial is preserved in excellent condition, with the double signature very clearly legible. It is driven by the manual calibre 27 SC with central seconds, a novelty at the time.
