The aesthetic of the Breguet 3057BA Classique Perpetual Calendar is 100% Breguet, but actually this perpetual calendar was born out of Daniel Roth’s philosophy. It is in fact the first creative project he undertook after working for Jaeger-LeCoultre and Audemars Piguet, and after the Chaumet brothers decided to breathe new life into the glorious brand. Breguet’s director at the time, Francois Bodet, stated that only 2 or 3 perpetual calendars came out of the maison each year, as they required about 30 different watchmaking professions to create each individual watch.<\/p>\n
This reference is from 1992. The proportions of the yellow gold coin case are interesting: 36 mm in diameter and a thickness of 8 mm. The dial is made of a solid gold plate with a galvanized silver surface, and features the clous de Paris guilloch\u00e9 work typical of the Maison. The most beautiful aesthetic touch, however, are the hands: a distinctive pomme \u00e9vid\u00e9e with elongated stem. Each watch has been serially numbered in the classic Breguet tradition, with the number visible on a plate fixed to the dial at 3 o’clock.<\/p>\n
The back of the 3057 offers a view that few watches can match, where even the refined anglage is secondary to the engraving style. It allows a view of the Frederic Piguet automatic caliber 71 with off-center oscillating weight. The watch is fitted with a leather strap with gold buckle, which is complemented by the exclusive WATCH INSANITY signature set.<\/p>\n
