Not very long ago we presented the new IWC Pilot\u2019s Watches to you and talked about The Longest Flight<\/strong>, the project with which Steve Boultbee Brooks and Matt Jones hope to write about the history of aviation. While we wait for August, when the Silver Spitfire will take off from Goodwood, IWC celebrated the new Pilot\u2019s Watches with an exclusive gala evening entitled the Spitfire Club<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The evening took place on 29 May at the Officine Del Volo<\/strong>, the historic Milanese complex of the Caproni former aeronautical plant at Taliedo<\/strong>. A unique location in which IWC recreated the typical environment of the British Clubs of the nineteen forties<\/strong>, to give collectors and illustrious guests the chance to experience the dream of flying and to admire up close the new Pilot\u2019s collection.<\/p>\n

As in every British club worthy of respect, the bar and the selection of cocktails were not random. The Downtown Distillery created a selection of Explorer\u2019s Gin-based drinks<\/strong> which it then served in a large bar<\/strong> at the centre of the space built on a base of galvanised sheeting alluding to the materials used in aeronautics.<\/strong><\/p>\n

During the evening, the Florentine band Street Clerks<\/strong>, know to everyone through the X Factor and EPCC, entertained the guests with a cover show from the Fifties and Sixties<\/strong> reinterpreted in a modern key alternating with the rock notes of Radio Spitfire. At the microphone, the voice of the speaker Albertino<\/strong> guided the performances of the celebrities on stage including that of the actor Pierfrancesco Favino, IWC Ambassador, who moved the audience with the thrilling tale of The Longest Flight.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Among the many faces present during the evening we remember Fabio Capello, Serena Autieri and the IWC \u00a0Ambassadors, Rudy Zerbi and the Michelin-star Chef Andrea Berton, who, according to tradition, presented in person a selection of dishes invented especially for the event.<\/strong><\/p>\n
