Available in two versions, with a 44mm rose gold case with a dark stone dial carved from a slab of slate or in white gold with a sleek black honeycombgrid<\/strong>, the new <\/span>Executive Tourbillon \u00abFree Wheel\u00bb it\u2019s completely exposed through the <\/span>box-domed sapphire<\/span> glass.<\/span><\/p>\n

The structure and the finishings of the glass show all the components of the caliber as <\/span><\/strong>the dial\u2019s tourbillon bridges and the 7-day power reserve indicator at four o\u2019clock<\/strong>. The same is for the other skeletonized components as the hour and minute indicators and the gorgeous gear trains.\u00a0<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

The caseback too, is in sapphire, except there\u2019s nothing to see inside, as, in a complete reversal of watchmaking convention, all the components are visible on the dial side<\/strong>.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The mechanical movement powering all this beauty is the new manual windig caliber UN-176, entirely developed in-house<\/strong> in La Chaux-de-Fonds. Its flying tourbillon is the \u201cUlysse Anchor Escapement\u201d, a pioneering technology that replaces the traditional Swiss lever escapement system<\/strong> and uses Ulysse Nardin\u2019s signature low-friction silicium instead of metal or synthetic rubies.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n
