It is to pursue the connection between watchmaking and automotive that IWC Schaffhausen decided to be timing partner of the 76\u00b0 Goodwood Members\u2019 Meeting.\u00a0We hereby present you the latest addition among the Ingenieur family: the Ingenieur Chronograph Sport Edition \u201c76th Members\u2019 Meeting at Goodwood\u201d (Ref. IW381201), limited to 176 numbered pieces!\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

This historical meeting takes place in South England, not far from London, in the lands of Lord March<\/strong>.\u00a0During the event, exclusively reserved to the members of BARC (British Automobile Racing Club)<\/strong>, legendary classic cars and motorbikes, from the 1920\u2019s onwards, compete on the racetrack.<\/p>\n

Surrounded by the typical English rainy weather, a parade of classic motorbikes welcomed the guests during the gala dinner in Lord March\u2019s residence, roaring through the main entrance.<\/p>\n

After the gala, IWC introduced the new Ingenieur<\/strong>, alongside with the IWC Racing Team<\/strong>, becoming the first watch brand competing in classic car racings with its own team and car.\u00a0Great protagonist was the Mercedes-Benz 300 SL “Gullwing”<\/strong>, the sports car which doors reminds of seagull\u2019s wings. The car has been chosen by IWC because it was produced in the same years of the first IWC Ingenieur, between 1954 and 1957<\/strong>.\u00a0Next to the iconic sport car, the champion David Coulthard<\/strong> and Carmen Jord\u00e1<\/strong>, GP3 pilot.\u00a0The next day Coulthard debuted in the Salvadori Cup, competition dedicated to racing cars produced between 1955 and 1960, conquering the 9th<\/sup> place.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Ingenieur Chronograph Sport Edition \u201c76th Members\u2019 Meeting at Goodwood\u201d <\/strong>encloses a classic column-wheel chronographic movement, powered by the IWC-manufactured 69380 caliber, <\/strong>featuring a pawl-winding system <\/strong>and a 46-hour power reserve. <\/strong>The 44mm case <\/strong>is made of titanium <\/strong>and it has a soft-iron inner cage, which protects the movement from magnetic fields. <\/strong>The silver-plated dial, the black sub-dials, the black hands coated with luminescence, and the blue chronograph hands <\/strong>creates incredible contrasts on the dial.\u00a0The movement is visible through a sapphire-glass back and its shape is spired by a disc brake. <\/strong>Fitted with a black calfskin strap featuring blue seams, it is imprinted with \u201c76\u201d, commemorating this year\u2019s edition of the Goodwood Members\u2019 Meeting.<\/strong><\/p>\n
