The Mysterious movement, an icon of Cartier<\/strong> Fine Watchmaking, will be one of the protagonists at the French brand booth during SIHH 2018.<\/p>\n

This historic movement was born in 1912 thanks to a collaboration between Louis Cartier and watchmaker Maurice Co\u00fcet,<\/strong> whose first mystery clock, known as Model A, was inspired by the clocks of the famous illusionist and father of modern magic, Jean-Eug\u00e8ne Robert-Houdin<\/strong>. Cartier is now paying tribute to the Mysterious movement with a new watchmaking interpretation, a Skeleton Mysterious Double Tourbillon<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

\"Cartier\"<\/p>\n

The Mysterious Double Tourbillon movement created at the La Chaux-de- Fonds Manufacture<\/strong> in 2013. The tourbillon appears to be suspended in mid-air with no connection to the rest of the movement<\/strong>. As a double flying tourbillon, it effects a complete rotation in 60 seconds<\/strong>, while the tourbillon cage performs a second rotation in which each round takes 5 minutes<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

All of the components are hand-finished: the bridges chamfered, anks drawn and screw heads polished<\/strong>. This year\u2019s addition of skeletonised bridges in the shape of Roman numerals on the dia<\/strong>l enhances the lightness and power of the watch.<\/p>\n

\"Cartier\"<\/p>\n

The curves of the watch and mysterious movement\u2028are complemented by the\u2028stark geometric openwork architecture of the skeletonised bridges. The case<\/strong>, with its 45mm<\/strong> diametre and thickness of 12.40 mm, is in Platinum<\/strong>, and it\u2019s also available with bezel paved with baguette-cut diamonds.<\/p>\n
