Launched by Fawaz Gruosi<\/strong> two years ago, the New Retro<\/strong> collection today is enriched by a new model, inspired by the 1950s<\/strong>, a tourbillon bearing the De Grisogono signature.<\/p>\n

The New Retro Skeleton Tourbillon <\/strong>integrates a legendary complication with a daring style. De Grisogono has developed a movement with an original construction and with an architecture evoking the grilles of vintage cars<\/strong>.\u00a0As if suspended inside the sapphire case<\/strong> (dimensions: 44 x 51 x 12.3 mm) and held by the bridges, the tourbillon is visible at 3 o\u2019clock<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

\"New<\/p>\n

This in-line skeleton movement<\/strong> reveals its intricate inner workings in an oblong format smoothly embracing the case middle. At 3 o\u2019clock, the heart of the movement \u2013 the balance-wheel, balance-spring and escapement \u2013 and its 83 components defy gravity. The black rhodium-plated and gold decorated upper and lower bridges of the tourbillon carriage, holding the entire movement, are graced with alternating sandblasted and horizontal satin finishing<\/strong>. They feature hand-polished chamfers that called for more than 60 hours of work. The sunburst barrel with its openworked scrolling motif, reveals tantalising glimpses of its spring, while the ratchet wheel plays on the contrast between the sunburst swirls and a black lacquer coating.<\/strong><\/p>\n

\"New<\/p>\n

The dG 31-88 calibre<\/strong> operates at a frequency of 21,600 vibrations per hour and has a 72-hour power reserve.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Water-resistant to 30 metres<\/strong>, the New Retro Skeleton Tourbillon is produced in a 25-piece limited edition, featuring a pink or white gold case<\/strong> teamed with an alligator leather strap featuring large square scales and a saddle finish.<\/p>\n
