Rolex<\/a><\/strong><\/span> is introducing three new versions of its Oyster Perpetual Cosmograph Daytona in 18 ct yellow, white or Everose gold. These versions are tted on the innovative Oysterflex bracelet in elastomer reinforced with a metal blade<\/strong>, and are equipped with a monobloc Cerachrom bezel, patented by Rolex, in black ceramic. This latest evolution is a blend of high technology and sleek aesthetics, and pays tribute to the heritage of this legendary chronograph. The black bezel is reminiscent of the 1965 model that was tted with a black Plexiglas bezel insert.<\/strong><\/p>\n

\"Daytona\"<\/p>\n

A key part of the model\u2019s identity is the bezel engraved with a tachymetric scale for measuring average speeds of up to 400 units of distance \u2013 miles or kilometres \u2013 per hour<\/strong>. The monobloc Cerachrom bezel in high-tech ceramic<\/strong> offers a number of advantages: it is corrosion resistant, virtually scratchproof and the colour is unaffected by UV rays<\/strong>. This extremely durable bezel also offers an exceptionally legible tachymetric scale, thanks to the deposition of a thin layer of 18 ct gold or platinum in the numerals and graduations via a PVD process. The monobloc Cerachrom bezel is made in a single piece and holds the crystal firmly in place on the middle case, ensuring waterproofness.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Cosmograph Daytona\u2019s Oyster case, guaranteed waterproof to a depth of 100 metres (330 feet)<\/strong>, is a paragon of robustness, proportion and elegance. Its characteristically shaped middle case is crafted from a solid block of 18 ct gold. Its fluted case back is hermetically screwed down with a special tool that allows only Rolex watchmakers to access the movement.<\/strong> The winding crown \u2013 fitted with the Triplock triple water- proofness system<\/strong> \u2013 as well as the chronograph pushers screw down securely against the case. Its crown guard is an integral part of the middle case. The crystal is made of virtually scratchproof sapphire.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Cosmograph Daytona is equipped with calibre 4130, a self-winding mechanical chronograph movement<\/strong> entirely developed and manufactured by Rolex.\u00a0The robust chronograph is engaged by a mechanism with a column wheel and vertical clutch, allowing an instantaneous and extremely precise start. The oscillator, the true heart of the watch, has a blue Parachrom hairspring<\/strong> patented and manufactured by Rolex in an exclusive alloy. Insensitive to magnetic fields<\/strong>, the Parachrom hairspring offers great stability in the face of temperature variations<\/strong> and remains up to 10 times more precise than a traditional hairspring in case of shocks. A Rolex overcoil ensures its regularity in any position. Calibre 4130 is equipped with a self-winding module featuring a Perpetual rotor and boasts a power reserve of approximately 72 hours.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The new Cosmograph Daytona versions are fitted on an Oysterflex bracelet<\/strong>, developed and patented by Rolex. This technical bracelet combines in a singular way the robustness and reliability of a metal bracelet with the exibility, comfort and aesthetics of an elastomer strap. At its core lies a superelastic metal blade overmoulded with high-performance black elastomer, a material that is particularly resistant to environ- mental effects and very durable.<\/strong> The Oysterflex bracelet is also fitted with an 18 ct yellow, white or Everose gold Oysterlock safety clasp<\/strong> that prevents accidental opening. It is equipped with the ingenious Rolex-patented Easylink rapid extension system<\/strong> that allows the wearer to easily increase the bracelet length by approximately 5 mm, for additional comfort in any circumstance.<\/p>\n

Like all Rolex watches, the Cosmograph Daytona is covered by the Superlative Chronometer certification<\/strong> redefined by Rolex in 2015. The precision of a Rolex Superlative Chronometer after casing is of the order of \u22122\/+2 seconds per day, or more than twice that required of an official chronometer.<\/strong><\/p>\n
