With more than\u00a097% of the movement dynamic<\/strong>, the\u00a0[SUPER] FREAK<\/strong>\u00a0is conceived by the Maison as the most complex watch ever created dedicated solely to measuring time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

THE UN-252 CALIBRE AND THE FIRST AUTOMATIC DOUBLE TOURBILLON CARROUSEL<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Looking at it, it seems almost impossible that mechanics and poetry can coexist. Yet that is exactly what happens. At the centre of everything beats the new in-house\u00a0UN-252<\/strong>\u00a0calibre, developed over four years as the ultimate expression of the Freak universe.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The minute bridge, composed of\u00a0327 components<\/strong>, integrates two flying titanium tourbillons inclined at 10 degrees, rotating in opposite directions and completing a full revolution every 60 seconds. A construction of astonishing complexity which, despite everything, weighs only\u00a03.5 grams<\/strong>, making it 30% lighter than that of the\u00a0Freak S<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

All of this operates at\u00a02 x 18,000 vibrations per hour<\/strong>,\u00a042 jewels<\/strong>, and a level of mechanical density with few equals in contemporary\u00a0Haute Horlogerie<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

THE WORLD\u2019S SMALLEST DIFFERENTIAL AND THE WORLD\u2019S SMALLEST GIMBAL SYSTEM<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Among the details that make the\u00a0[SUPER] FREAK<\/strong>\u00a0extraordinary, two deserve almost to be considered complications in their own right.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The first is the world\u2019s smallest vertical differential, measuring just\u00a05 mm<\/strong>, composed of\u00a069 components<\/strong>. A micro-architecture that calculates the average speed of the two tourbillons and harmonises their performance, ensuring precision and stability.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Its inspiration is deeply coherent with the Maison\u2019s maritime DNA: the gimbal joint was historically created to stabilise compasses aboard ships. Today it returns, reinterpreted as extreme micro-engineering.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

There is something poetically perfect in this. That a solution born to guide ships on the open sea now regulates time in a masterpiece of micro-mechanics says much about the way\u00a0Ulysse Nardin<\/strong>\u00a0conceives innovation: not as rupture, but as continuity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

GRINDER, SILICON AND DIAMonSIL: THE TECHNICAL HEART OF THE [SUPER] FREAK<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Powering such an architecture requires energy on another scale. And this is where\u00a0Grinder<\/strong>\u00a0comes into play, the patented automatic winding system by\u00a0Ulysse Nardin<\/strong>, recognised as the most efficient ever developed. Thanks to a construction with four ultra-thin blades measuring\u00a00.12 mm<\/strong>, the system converts even the slightest wrist movement into energy, ensuring a\u00a0three-day power reserve<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

These are solutions created to push precision beyond traditional limits. Precisely in the spirit of\u00a0Ulysse Nardin<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

DESIGN AND KINETIC ARCHITECTURE<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

To house this mechanical density, a new\u00a044 mm white gold case<\/strong>\u00a0has been created, with redesigned bezel and locking system, more compact and refined. Titanium bridges, the skeletonised construction, the contrast between volumes and voids \u2014 everything contributes to an aesthetic that seems not to belong to traditional watchmaking. More than design, it is kinetic architecture.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Completing it is a grey ballistic rubber strap with white gold deployant clasp and\u00a030 metres<\/strong>\u00a0of water resistance, almost secondary compared to the mechanical complexity it contains.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

180 YEARS OF CRAFTSMANSHIP, SHAPED BY HAND<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

And yet, for all its futurism, the\u00a0[SUPER] FREAK<\/strong>\u00a0remains profoundly human. More than\u00a070% of its components<\/strong>\u00a0are hand-finished. Each piece requires\u00a060 hours of assembly<\/strong>, entrusted entirely to a single master watchmaker at Ulysse Nardin\u2019s\u00a0Atelier de Haute Horlogerie<\/strong>. Hand-decorated titanium bridges, straight graining, sandblasting, polishing carried out with traditional tools: here high technology does not replace savoir-faire, it amplifies it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And it is here that the\u00a0[SUPER] FREAK<\/strong>\u00a0ceases to be merely engineering and becomes watchmaking again in the highest sense of the word. Despite the patents, the micro-engineering and the silicon, it remains above all\u00a0Haute Horlogerie<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The new\u00a0Ulysse Nardin [SUPER] FREAK<\/strong>\u00a0is not simply the most evolved Freak ever created. It is proof that, twenty-five years after revolutionising watchmaking with silicon, carrousel architecture and the absence of a crown, the Freak continues to move the boundary of what a mechanical watch can be, remaining faithful to the original vision of\u00a0Ludwig Oechslin<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
