Lange &amp; S\u00f6hne<\/strong>\u00a0has supported the\u00a0<strong>Concorso d\u2019Eleganza Villa d\u2019Este<\/strong>.<strong>For the first time, this year\u2019s prize for the winner of the main \u201cBest of Show\u201d category is a special model of the 1815 CHRONOGRAPH<\/strong>.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Since 2012, A. Lange &amp; S\u00f6hne has been a partner of the Concorso d\u2019Eleganza Villa d\u2019Este, which this year\u00a0<strong>will be held on Lake Como from 1 to 3 October<\/strong>. Every year, Lange CEO Wilhelm Schmid has presented the owner of the competition\u2019s most elegant vehicle with a LANGE 1 TIME ZONE \u201cComo Edition\u201d.\u00a0<strong>Each of these watches is a unique piece, as the hand-engraved hinged cuvette refers to the event: The \u201c<\/strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.concorsodeleganzavilladeste.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">CONCORSO D\u2019ELEGANZA VILLA D\u2019ESTE<\/a><strong>\u201d signature frames the coat of arms as well as the founding year 1929 and the current event year<\/strong>. They bridge the span from the first Concorso d\u2019Eleganza to the present. This exceptional watch is not for sale. With its\u00a0<strong>Arabic numerals<\/strong>\u00a0and the\u00a0<strong>railway-track minute scale<\/strong>, the\u00a0<strong>dial in pink gold<\/strong>\u00a0recalls A. Lange &amp; S\u00f6hne\u2019s legendary pocket watches. The\u00a0<strong>brown subsidiary dials for the seconds and the minute counter\u00a0<\/strong>contrast well against the bright background. The\u00a0<strong>black rhodiumed gold hands for the hours and minutes<\/strong>, that match the case, and the\u00a0<strong>steel chronograph hand<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>the subsidiary seconds hand and the minute-counter hand, which are also rhodiumed<\/strong>, ensure good legibility as well. It has a power reserve of 60 hours<\/strong>. A large cam-poised balance wheel driven by a freely oscillating hairspring crafted in- house assures superior rate accuracy. Because it beats at a frequency of 18,000 semi-oscilla- tions per hour (2.5 hertz), the watch delivers readings of stopped times with the accuracy of one- fifth of a second. The\u00a0<strong>sapphire-crystal<\/strong>\u00a0caseback reveals the lavishly hand-finished chronograph mechanism. A subtly composed choice of different materials and surface decorations empha- sises the three-dimensionality of the movement architecture.
