Journe ever<\/h1>\n<p>Back in 1999 <span style=\"color: #000000;\"><a style=\"color: #000000;\" href=\"http:\/\/www.fpjourne.com\/eu\/chronologie-en.html\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>Fran\u00e7ois Paul Journe<\/strong><\/a><\/span> did not have the necessary capital to start his own tourbillon wristwatch production.<\/p>\n<p><strong>He had to raise down payments from twenty friends and existing clients<\/strong> to found his own brand, and producing <strong>the first twenty Tourbillon Souverain.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>This &#8220;subscription&#8221; system have been used by Abraham Breguet when revitalizing his business after the French Revolution.<\/p>\n<p>Fran\u00e7ois Paul Journe successfully raised down payments from twenty friends and existing clients, and created with this funding the first twenty tourbillon wristwatches, <strong>recognizable by an engraved number near the traditional two o\u2019clock.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.watchinsanity.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/11\/FP-Journe-Phillips-Watch-insanity-01.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-1378\" src=\"https:\/\/www.watchinsanity.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/11\/FP-Journe-Phillips-Watch-insanity-01-1024x483.png\" alt=\"FP Journe - Phillips - Watch insanity - 01\" width=\"980\" height=\"462\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.watchinsanity.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/11\/FP-Journe-Phillips-Watch-insanity-01-1024x483.png 1024w, https:\/\/www.watchinsanity.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/11\/FP-Journe-Phillips-Watch-insanity-01-300x142.png 300w, https:\/\/www.watchinsanity.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/11\/FP-Journe-Phillips-Watch-insanity-01.png 1600w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 980px) 100vw, 980px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>These watches are extremely sought after trophies within the collectors community, and <strong>many of the original owners eagerly hold into them<\/strong>, hence creating a remarkable shortage of supply for these masterpieces.<\/p>\n<p><strong>The in-house F.P. Journe movement is made of rhodium-plated brass, and is fitted with a remontoire \u2013 a constant force device.<\/strong> This mechanism was first incorporated in one of Journe\u2019s pocket watches in 1982, and featured for the first time inside a wristwatch in this example.<\/p>\n<p>Number nine of this twenty first Toubillon Souverain have been seen during the <span style=\"color: #000000;\"><a style=\"color: #000000;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.phillips.com\/detail\/FP-JOURNE\/CH080515\/112\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>Phillips Geneva auction<\/strong><\/a><\/span> that took place the 7<sup>th<\/sup> and 8<sup>th<\/sup> of November.<\/p>\n<p><strong>This spectacular timepiece have been estimated between 80,000-120,000 CHF and have been hammered at the incredible price of 269,000 CHF, more then double its retail and estimated price.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>I healthy envy the gentleman that added such a masterpiece to his collection, a true milestone in modern watchmaking.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.watchinsanity.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/11\/FP-Journe-Phillips-Watch-insanity-02.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-1379 size-large\" src=\"https:\/\/www.watchinsanity.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/11\/FP-Journe-Phillips-Watch-insanity-02-1024x483.png\" alt=\"FP Journe - Phillips - Watch insanity - 02\" width=\"980\" height=\"462\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.watchinsanity.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/11\/FP-Journe-Phillips-Watch-insanity-02-1024x483.png 1024w, https:\/\/www.watchinsanity.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/11\/FP-Journe-Phillips-Watch-insanity-02-300x142.png 300w, https:\/\/www.watchinsanity.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/11\/FP-Journe-Phillips-Watch-insanity-02.png 1600w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 980px) 100vw, 980px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Phillips auctioned one of the first F.P.
